Task 1: Portal and Database Deployment Strategies (Windows)
Typically these components are all installed on the same physical server, in which case steps two and three are combined.
Note: The Portal and Database components should be installed on the same server. Although the installer includes an option to install these components on two separate servers, this option exists for legacy customers, is no longer a standard supported configuration and requires the engagement of Hitachi Data Systems Professional Services.
Installing Oracle and Portal Binaries on the Same Server
For the typical Portal installation, the installation process consists of these main tasks:
1. Install Oracle application binaries. See Task 3: Installing Oracle Application Binaries (Windows).
2. Install the APTARE StorageConsole Portal software components and the database schema. See Task 4: Installing Portal Application Binaries (Windows).
