Managed Array Security
Hitachi Data Systems
Communication: The Hitachi Storage Viewer Data Collector communicates with Hitachi storage systems via the Hitachi Device Manager XML API. A connection is required between the Data Collector and the Device Manager API on TCP port 2001.
Authentication: The Hitachi Storage Viewer Data Collector requires an account within HiCommand Device Manager with administrative privileges.
EMC Symmetrix
Communication: The Hitachi Storage Viewer Data Collector communicates with EMC Symmetrix storage systems via the Symcli. Symcli is installed as part of EMC Solutions Enabler. The Data Collector must be installed on a server running Solutions Enabler.
Authentication: There is no authentication required to access the symcli.
EMC CLARiiON
Communication: The Hitachi Storage Viewer Data Collector communicates with EMC CLARiiON storage systems via the EMC NaviSecCLI, which communicates with the NaviSphere Manager. A connection is required between the data collector and each managed CLARiiON array on the default TCP port 6389.
Authentication: The Hitachi Storage Viewer Data Collector requires a view-only NaviSuite account.
HP EVA
Communication: The Hitachi Storage Viewer Data Collector communicates with the HP Storage System Scripting Utility (SSSU), which must be installed on the Data Collector server.
Authentication: An SSSU username and password are required.
IBM Subsystem (3000, 4000 and 5000 Series)
Communication: The Hitachi Storage Viewer Data Collector communicates with the IBM 300/400/500 storage systems via the IBM SMCLI. The Data Collector must be installed on a server running IBM SMCLI.
Authentication: There is no authentication required.
IBM Enterprise (6000 & 8000 Series)
Communication: The Hitachi Storage Viewer Data Collector communicates with the IBM 6000/8000 storage systems via the IBM DSCLI. The Data Collector must be installed on a server running the IBM DSCLI.
Authentication: The Hitachi Storage Viewer Data Collector requires a user account that has Monitor Group privileges on the storage array.
IBM SVC
Communication: The Hitachi Storage Viewer Data Collector communicates with the IBM SVC on ports 5988/5989. System Storage Productivity Center (SSPC) with the CIMOM agent is required
Authentication: Super-user ID and password for CIMOM is required.
IBM VIO
Communication: The Hitachi Storage Viewer Data Collector communicates with the IBM VIO via the LPAR (Logical Partition) Management Server of either HMC (Hardware Management Console) or IVM (Integrated Virtualization Manager).
Authentication: Username and password for the LPAR Management Server is required. For HMC, the username should have at least HMC Viewer permissions.
NetApp
Communication: The Hitachi Storage Viewer Data Collector communicates with NetApp storage systems via the ONTAP API (XML over HTTPS). An HTTP or HTTPS connection is required between the Data Collector and each managed filer on TCP port(s) 80 or 443 respectively.
Authentication: The Data Collector requires a NetApp user with the necessary privileges to access the application programming interface (API):
