Unused Disks/Volume Groups
Explore your data center using APTARE customizable report templates or by using parts of your IT infrastructure as entry points. Use Search to find reports, templates and dashboards across the portal.
Use the Reports tab to examine the catalog of templates, dashboards and reports - organized by products along with user-created, and system folders. This report is located here:
Capacity Manager > Available or Reclaimable Storage > Unused Disks/Volume Groups
Use this report to view a list of hosts that have available space. These hosts have space from which more partitions or logical volumes can be created. This report can be used to identify storage that has been requested, but that is not being used. Then, the list can be emailed to the group that has requested the storage.
In the report’s scope selector, the Host Type option can be used to include virtual hosts in this host-based report: VM Server, VM Guest, VIO Server, VIO Guest, Oracle Container, Oracle Zone, Hyper-V Server, Hyper-V Guest, or Other. Note that host disks, not volume groups, are displayed for virtual hosts. Also, there are no unused disks for VM Guests, as virtual disks are created by the VM Guest.
Note: In this report, if the RAID type = 1, the capacity is divided by 2, to reflect true usable capacity.
For HP 3PAR, volume groups refer to Common Provisioning Groups.
