Adding or Updating Veritas NetBackup Master Servers
For each Veritas NetBackup server specified in the APTARE StorageConsole Data Collector Pre-Installation worksheet, add the Veritas NetBackup server to StorageConsole.
1. In the Portal, add a master server: Admin > Hosts and Domains > Hosts and Host Groups
2. To add a server/host, at the left of the Host Group Administration window, click Add.
3. To edit a server/host, n the Host Group Administration window, expand the Host Groups tree and select a specific host group to display its members. You also can search for a specific host. See
Searching for a Host. Double-click a host to edit the details.
4. Enter values for all of the required fields (denoted by an *) and click OK.
• External name - Displayed in the Portal.
• Internal name - The
Internal Name needs to match the host name of the Master Server. If a Master Server belongs to a cluster, enter the
NetBackup Cluster Name for the Internal Name. See
Collecting from NetBackup Clusters.
• IP address
• Make & Model (optional)
• OS (optional)
• Type = Veritas Master Server
Note: Currently, the Time Zone setting is available only for a host that is configured as a NetBackup Master Server.
Whenever the Time Zone is modified, the system marks the Data Collector as dirty so that the updates will be pushed to the Data Collector server. If the time zone is not explicitly configured for a NetBackup Master Server, StorageConsole defaults to the time zone of the Data Collector server.
Note that in StorageConsole reports, the date and time displayed for a backup transaction represents the date and time when the event actually happened.
