Array Capacity & Utilization - (EMC VNX Celerra View)
Use Search to find a template, report or dashboard by name. Search is case insensitive, supports partial entries, and will display a list of potential matches.
As you enter the name in the Search field, up to 10 potential matches are displayed. If the template, report or dashboard is shown, you can select and run it directly from the match list. You can also click All Items in the match list to go directly to the Search Results.
StorageConsole provides different navigation options to slice and examine your collected data. You can explore the data by using the APTARE customizable report templates or by using parts of your IT infrastructure as entry points. The Inventory Navigator serves as a browser for your infrastructure by object type.
Use the Reports tab to examine the StorageConsole catalog of templates, dashboards and reports - organized by products along with user-created, and system folders. This report is located here:
The Array Capacity and Utilization report provides an overview of storage array capacity and utilization. Use this report to identify storage arrays that are under utilized or highly utilized.
The Array Capacity & Utilization report represents EMC VNX File (Celerra) storage array details.

Storage Array
The name that you assigned to the array. Available values include all supported storage arrays.
Family
The family classification of the storage array as assigned by the vendor. Use this name to ascertain the vendor’s product specifications.
Vendor
The name of the vendor that distributes the storage array.
Product
The name of the product, typically shown as a series number. This field provides an indicator of capacity specifications, such as LUNs, hosts per array, and drives per array.
Version
Version of the storage array software.
Status
Status of the array.
# DMs
Number of Data Movers links to the Data Mover report where you can chart CPU and Memory utilization.
# VDMs
Number of Virtual Data Movers links to the Virtual Data Mover report.
# FC Ports
Number of storage director Fibre Channel ports.
# iSCSI Ports
Number of iSCSI ports.
# 10/100/1000 Base-T
Number of Ethernet ports.
# Disks
Number of disks links to the Disk Summary report for additional information.
# Control Stations
Number of Control Stations for the Data Movers.
Physical Summary
Capacity
Sum of the capacity of all physical disks from all array groups, including spares (drives that are not allocated to an array group).
Allocated
Allocated storage is physical storage consumed, including parity overhead and system overhead. A gap between raw and allocated capacity may indicate unused capacity, such as drives in a rack that are not in use.
Available
Total raw capacity of the array that has not been allocated. The size is displayed in the units you selected with the Advanced option when you generated the report.
% Available
% of storage that is available.
Raw Usage
% indicates raw usage.
Raw RAID Group Summary
# RAID Groups
Number of raw RAID groups for this storage array.
RAID Groups Capacity
Amount of capacity associated with the array’s RAID groups.
RAID Groups Used
Amount of raw RAID group capacity that is currently in use.
RAID Groups Available
Amount of raw RAID group capacity that is available.
RAID Group Usage
% of the RAID group capacity that is in use.
Storage Pools
# Storage Pools
Number of storage pools for this array; links to the Storage Pools Summary report.
Raw Capacity
The storage pool’s raw capacity. Raw capacity is the summation of the physical disks.
Used Capacity
The amount of storage pool capacity that is in use.
Available Capacity
The amount of storage pool capacity that is available.
Potential Capacity
Storage pool capacity, including available space that can be allocated (depending on the associated storage profile).
Thin Pool Total
Total of thin pool capacity for the storage pools.
Thin Pool Used
Amount of thin pool capacity in the storage pools that is in use, not including LUNs that have not yet been physically allocated.
Thin Pool Available
Amount of thin pool capacity in the storage pools that is available.
% Subscribed
% of the thin pool capacity that is subscribed.
Volume Summary
# Disk Vols
Number of Celerra disk volumes (storage system volumes).
# Slice Vols
Number of slices within the volumes.
# Stripe Vols
Number of strip volumes configured to improve performance.
# Meta Vols
Number of metavolumes; Metavolumes offer a mechanism for creating a logical volume that is larger than a single disk.
# Pool Vols
Number of pool volumes, used to store Celerra SnapSure checkpoint data (SavVol) or Celerra Replicator copies (ConfigVol).
Volume Capacity
The amount of capacity associated with all the volumes.
# Allocated Vols
Number of volumes allocated to Celerra file systems.
Allocated Vol Capacity
Amount of capacity associated with the allocated volumes.
# Unallocated Vols
Number of volumes that have not been allocated to Celerra file systems.
UnAlloc Vol Capacity
Amount of capacity associated with the unallocated volumes.
Vol Usage
% of the volumes that is in use.
